Subs now due

Subscriptions for 2012 are now due, and have been kept at the bargain rate of £10 for ordinary (non-acting) membership, and £20 for acting membership. Cheques to Virginia King please, either by post, or at rehearsals for Betchworth on Sea

Condolences

We were very saddened to learn of Hazel Cooper's loss of her husband Tony, whom several of our members knew well through Hazel's association with BODS - she was for several years a committee member and membership secretary. We send our sincere condolences to Hazel and the family.

Play readings for fun !

Tuesdays in June – come and read some plays for fun – and we may even find one we would like to put on.

Tuesday 14th June, Tuesday 21st June, Tuesday 28th June - 8.00 p.m. Betchworth Village Hall, Station Road, Betchworth – in the back room.

Maybe bring a drink and some nibbles, we can provide coffee and tea, make it a social occasion.

Do let me know if you would like to come to one or all of these, and also if there is a particular play you would love us to read.

Farewell to the hut

The BODS scenery hut next to the Hall was finally cleared by a working party on 11 July, ready for demolition and the building of a replacement. A generous grant from the Surrey Community Foundation has enabled this. Nobody knows exactly when the original hut was built, but it seems to have been there for at least 50 years and was showing its age, although a smaller additional hut had been erected alongside in recent years. Much of the scenery stored inside was also past its use-by date, so a selection of pieces worth keeping were moved to temporary storage at a member's home. Thanks to Derrick Graham for the use of his trailer, and Terry Mitchell for his Landrover.
